The CFO is responsible for building and leading the financial function at Receipts AS. The role is central to supporting the company's international growth strategy through solid financial management, reporting, and analysis. The CFO ensures that management and the board of directors at all times have a clear and accurate picture of the company's financial position, and actively contributes to strategic decision-making processes.
Areas of Responsibility
1. International Expansion
Lead financial due diligence and structuring when entering new European markets
Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and regulatory requirements in relevant jurisdictions
Establish and operate legal and financial structures for foreign subsidiaries or branches
Support negotiations with international partners, banks, and investors
2. KPI Framework and Financial Reporting
Develop and implement a comprehensive KPI framework tailored to Receipts' business model (volume, transactions, MRR/ARR, churn, CAC, LTV)
Establish monthly management reporting for leadership and the board of directors
Prepare investor reporting and board packs in line with best practice
Ensure data quality and integrity in all financial reporting
3. Cash Flow Analysis and Liquidity Management
Establish ongoing cash flow reporting and forecasts (weekly/monthly rolling forecast)
Proactively identify and manage liquidity risks
Optimize working capital and payment flows, including settlement models related to Digital Receipts & Card Linking transactions
Manage banking relationships and credit facilities
4. Revenue and Cost Forecasting
Establish structured budget and forecasting processes (monthly, quarterly, and annual)
Build financial models for revenue projections based on volume, pricing, and market share
Analyse variances between actual and budgeted performance and present findings to management
Collaborate with sales and product teams on pipeline-based revenue estimates
5. Investments, Depreciation, and Balance Sheet Management
Establish routines for investment management (CapEx vs. OpEx classification) and depreciation schedules
Ensure correct balance sheet treatment of intangible assets, including capitalized development costs (IAS 38 / NGAAP)
Operate and quality-assure complete financial statements including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
Coordinate external audits and ensure annual accounts are delivered in accordance with Norwegian and applicable international standards
6. Tax Considerations
Manage Norwegian corporate tax, including optimization of tax position and deferred tax
Evaluate and implement appropriate holding structures and intra-group transactions (transfer pricing)
Ensure correct VAT handling, including for cross-border services within the EU/EEA
Stay current on relevant tax developments and advise management on implications
Qualifications
Education
Higher education in economics, accounting, or finance (MSc in Business/Economics, MBA, or equivalent)
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional qualification is an advantage
Experience
Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience, preferably from fintech, SaaS, or the payments industry
Experience with international operations and multi-entity structures
Proven track record of building finance functions in high-growth companies
Experience with investor relations and capital raising is an advantage
Skills and Personal Attributes
Strong analytical mindset and solid understanding of financial modelling
Good knowledge of Norwegian and international accounting legislation (NGAAP / IFRS)
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-change environment
Structured, reliable, and with high integrity
Strong communication skills in both Norwegian and English, written and verbal
Experience with relevant systems (e.g. Visma, Xledger, NetSuite, Power BI, or equivalent)
Skilled in using — AI tools (Claude, or similar) as part of everyday work
